Aphrodite, Goddess of Love
Goddess of: Beauty and Love
Job: I dunno... get people to fall in love? Nah, that's Eros'... What is Aphrodite's job? Well, some say she also helps bring couples together, I think that's the closest thing to a job she'll get.
Appearance: Obviously, beautiful!!! Portrayed as a young woman.
Characteristics: Vain, self-centured, a bit insecure, although no one really notices because she's too beautiful
Symbols / Sacred Objects: Myrtle, Doves, Sparrows, Swans, Dolphins, Girdle
Roman Name: Venus
Also Known As:
Parents: Some myths claim she's the daughter of Zeus and Dione (a really really minor goddess), but most sources say she was created when Ouranos' body part was thrown into the sea by Cronus, mixed with the sea foam, and created Aphrodite. The blood of Ouranos mixed with the foam also created the Furies (Erinyes) and the Ash Tree Dryads (Meliai).
Then she apparently sailed to shore on a scallop shell. Weirdly she seemed to have become an adult as soon as she was 'born'. She's never been depicted as a kid.
She is, in a strange way, considered the oldest Olympian, since logically (a lot of events in Greek Myths aren't logical) she was born at the time the Titans came into power (since that's the same time when Ouranos was overthrown and cut into pieces, including the one that became Aphrodite), while Zeus and some of the others were born a while later, when Cronus married Rhea.
Married to: Hephaestus
Strengths: Attractiveness (duh...), Seductiveness
Weaknesses: Vanity, Unfaithfulness
Cool Facts:
#1 She has a magic girdle given to her by Hephaestus that causes any man that sees her to fall in love with her.
#2 She started the Trojan War.

Children and stuff
Her husband is Hephaestus, an ugly blacksmith dude that liked playing with fire. So you should probably be able to see why Aphrodite wasn't too happy with being married to him. So she started dating other gods, including Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, and Dionysus.
And she had a LOT of kids.
With Poseidon:
With Ares (her main boyfriend):
With Hermes:
Hermaphroditus, the world's first hermaphrodite (it's even named after him! How wonderful!)
With Dionysus:
