Hades, Lord of the Dead
God of: The Underworld (also known as the Lower World or the land of the dead; the dead, wealth - he owns all the precious minerals and gems (and dead worms) in the ground
Job: King of the Underworld, God of the Dead (although the personification of dead itself is a minor god, Thanatos).
Appearance: Goth-ish (I guess). A bearded, middle-aged guy (see picture).
Characteristics: Sad, glum, frowny, cold-hearted - you know - what you'd act like if you spent three thousand years underground with a bunch of ghosts. Although most people (and modern stories) believe he's all evil and mean and stuff because he's associated with death, he's not actually bad. Just stern and cruel.
Symbols / Sacred Objects: Helm of Darkness (see Cool Fact #3), two pronged spear (like a trident, but only two prongs, as the title suggests), sceptre, narcissus, cypress, sometimes cornucopia (see Object #2), since he's the god of wealth.
Roman Name: Pluto
Also Known As: The Rich One, The Wealthy One, Clymenus ("notorious"), Polydegmon ("who receives many"), and maybe Eubuleus ("good counsel" or "well-intentioned")
Parents: Hades is the eldest son of Cronus and Rhea, so his siblings are Poseidon, Hestia (older sister), Hera, Demeter, and Zeus.
Married to: Persephone
Strengths: Persistent
Weaknesses: Impulsive, deceptive
Cool Facts:
#1 He's not considered an Olympian since he spent most of his time in his own kingdom . Hades rarely visited Mount Olympus, because for some reason he doesn't enjoy being in the company of the other gods (I guess that makes sense, since he's all dark and gloomy and deathly and stuff).
#2 During the Titan War, the Cyclopes made him a Helm of Darkness, which makes the wearer invisible. Therefore, when Hades visits the Upper World he still remains unseen.
#3 He has a ferryman named Charon (see Underworld), whose name is also the largest moon of Pluto (the planet).

Persephone
Persephone is Hades' wife. See Persephone (Minor God #1) for more about this story.
Minthe
Minthe was a naiad (a species of nymphs) who Hades liked. Obviously Persephone was a bit ticked off about this. Then Minthe bragged that she was more beautiful than the Queen of the Underworld (since Hades liked her). Wrong thing to say. Persephone trampled her underfoot and turned her into a mint plant.
